Conditions for rescheduling, cancellation, or failure to complete the course
- Background
Our club's training courses are very popular, and there is a year-long waiting list for new intakes. Conducting all the required background checks to verify your eligibility as a member and for a position in the course can take several hours.
Once you start the course, you must submit a P650 declaration and apply for a pistol licence with the Firearms Registry (FAR). Then, FAR will conduct a background check to determine your eligibility for a pistol licence. Your declaration and FAR’s decision are beyond our control.
- Change or cancel more than four weeks before your Intake Course Date
Please provide written notice if you change your mind after payment and decide to reschedule or cancel. An additional administration fee of $150 will apply, as we need to enrol a new member and update the club’s database and related documents.
- Change or cancel less than four weeks before your Intake Course Date
Failing to notify us at least four weeks before your Intake Course Date may result in our inability to fill your position, and you will forfeit your course fee.
- Course failure and problems with FAR
You must attend the induction night, seminars, and all training sessions. Additionally, you must pass an exam and demonstrate your understanding of the club’s safety procedures and pistol-handling practices. We cannot issue your PPL-Completion Certificate if you do not pass. Unsatisfactory attendance and our decision not to issue a PPL-Completion Certificate must be reported to FAR.
FAR will evaluate your applications at their discretion and may choose not to grant you a Provisional Pistol Licence (PPL), or they may revoke a PPL that has already been issued. Without a PPL, we won't be able to issue your PPL-Completion Certificate.
Refunds will not be issued in the instances mentioned above.
